Young Architects (originally Life+Style+Architecture) was established in 2003.  After having an office in the Christchurch CBD, we moved closer to our local community and earthquake client base.  We have again moved into the CBD, and are enjoying being a part of the re-emerging city vitality.

Throughout his career, Greg has gained experience in every aspect of the architectural industry, from structural and architectural draughting, steelwork and concrete fabrication detailing, 3D modelling, and design. He has worked on industrial, residential and commercial projects ranging from small baches to multi-million dollar homes.  This work has included a full range of architectural genres included Gothic Revival, Arts and Crafts, and Modernism.  Greg has also been involved in some prominent civic projects, including the New Zealand Parliament Buildings, and the Christchurch Town Hall.

Greg's experience has given him a thorough understanding of the "why" of architecture, as well as the "how".

Greg has been very involved in the Christchurch earthquake rebuild, working with insurance companies and on a number of community and industry groups to help the residents of Christchurch.  As part of the Insurance Watch advocacy group, Greg was awarded a civic Christchurch Earthquake Award by the Christchurch City Council for acts of kindness, service or heroism during the earthquakes.

Blake started with us as an intern in 2013, and is now an experienced member of our team, working as an architectural technician and designer.  Blake is very proficient technically and has a thirst for learning more and progressing in architecture.

Blake still plays rugby even though it hurts more these days - but since he's from Otago, Blake uses Speights for its medicinal properties.

SEAMUS McARA YOUNG

Irish Terrior

In loving memory of Seamus, 2008 - 2023.

Seamus was an important part of our team, spending a lot of time in the office, in charge of customer relations, meeting everyone enthusiastically at the door, and helping with site inspections.

Like JP, Seamus also like cats.

The team at Young Architects has over 70 years of combined experience in top-end architecture (excluding Seamus), and you can trust them to complete your project to the highest level, accurately and efficiently.
