Stravon Headquarters
The lodge at Stravon aptly named "Headquarters" was originally built in 1895 at the Homestead. It was then transported by horseback to its present location in the 1930's.
From there it has had some additions which we went through recently, ensuring the building met current NZ Building Codes and the requirements of a very harsh alpine environment.
The lodge has been awarded a Qualmark Gold Enviro Award (exceeds the highest levels of environmental and social responsibilities; represents strong leadership and advocacy), and given a 4 star rating as a Boutique and Lodge.
