Kereru Bach

On a steep bush clad site with an irregular shape, this bach has been conceptualized with a form that looks like a bird in flight when viewed from above, with timber internal detailing metaphorically representing feathers.

The site is home to numerous nesting pairs of kereru, and they let you know their presence.

The views from the building platform are spectacular, across the open water of the harbour so the surrounding coastal hills.

We've chosen a natural material palette, with weathered timber and copper externally, and predominantly plaster and timber internally.
