Hanmer Springs Top 10 Apartments
As part of our ongoing work at the Hanmer Springs Top Ten Holiday Park, we've designed a number of two bedroom apartments.
The design philosophy is to continue to evolve the theme of the holiday park, giving an aesthetic that is reminiscent of a traditional Kiwi bach, on a small cabin scale.
The apartments are 80 square meters, sleeping up to 8. They are fully self contained, with a full kitchen and bathroom, living room and dining table.
The apartments are north facing, with a highly pitched ceiling and southern clerestory windows. This allows the living spaces to be flooded with light, and the compact footprint to expand spacially. The extention to the pitched roof is a nod to the surrounding alps, as well as adding to the interior spacially.
The material palette reflects both the aesthetic of the holiday park, the strict requirements to building in the alpine village, and the ability to be easily maintained commercially.
